Regions of Los Angeles county

North Los Angeles County
Many Southern California visitors and residents are surprised to learn the entire northern half of Los Angeles County is a sparsely populated desert and mountain region with an average population density of about 200 people per square mile. The three regions of North Los Angeles County are the Angeles Forest Region, the Antelope Valley Region, and the Northwest County Region. Most of Northern Los Angeles County's residents live in the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, both in the Antelope Valley.

East Los Angeles County
Pomona Valley Region, the San Gabriel Valley Region, and the communities of Alhambra, Arcadia, Avocado Heights, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Charter Oak, Citrus, Claremont, Covina, Diamond Bar, Duarte, East Pasadena, East San Gabriel, El Monte, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, Industry, Irwindale, La Habra Heights, La Puente, La Verne, Mayflower Village, Monrovia, Monterey Park, North El Monte, North Whittier, Pomona, Ramona, Rosemead, Rowland Heights, San Dimas, San Gabriel, San Marino, San Pasqual, Sierra Madre, South Diamond Bar, South El Monte, South Pasadena, South San Gabriel, South San Jose Hills, Temple City, Valinda, Vincent, Walnut, West Covina, West Puente Valley, West San Dimas, Whittier, and Whittier Narrows.

South Los Angeles County
Includes the southern beach cities, the Harbor Region, the South Bay Region, the South LA Region,and the Southeast Region of Los Angeles County.

West Los Angeles County
Includes the northern beaches, Westside Region, the Santa Monica Mountains Region, and the San Fernando Valley Region of Los Angeles County.

Central Los Angeles County
Includes the Central LA Region, the Eastside Region,m the Northeast LA Region, and the Verdugos Region of Los Angeles County.
