Olvera Street at El Pueblo de Los Angeles

Olvera Street was orinally called Wine Street, but it was renamed in honor of Augustin Olvera in 1877 andd converted to a Mexican market in 1930. Olvera Street is part of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument, and its Spanish name is "La Placita Olvera". Included among the 27 historic buildings along Olvera street are the Avila Adobe, the Pelanconi House, and the Sepulveda House.
