Martin Luther King Day in Los Angeles

The third Monday of January is an official United States, State of California, and city of Los Angeles holiday established to remember and honor accomplishments and memory of African American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.

Los Angeles Martin Luther King Day Parade
Information about the Los Angeles Martin Luther King Day parade on the Web site of the parade organizers, the Congress of Racial Equality California, Legal Defense and Education Fund. The official name of the 2010 LA Martin Luther King Day parade was the "Martin Luther King Jr., Kingdom Day Parade" and its theme was "The Dream Lives On for Today and Tomorrow". The 25th Annual Kingdom Day Parade took place on January 18, 2010 in South Los Angeles, an area of Los Angeles formerly known as South Central Los Angeles. The parade began at about 10:15 p.m. and the parade route included Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard.
